PIMS YRC

Every few years SIGMAS hosts the PIMS Young Researchers Conference. The PIMS Young Researchers Conference is a unique opportunity for graduate students in mathematics and statistics to meet their peers and discover the wide range of research currently undertaken in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Attendees have the opportunity to give talks and participate in workshops to help hone their presentation and professional skills.

PIMS YRC 2016

The PIMS Young Researchers Conference is the largest annual graduate student event in mathematics and statistics in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. This year, the conference will be held at its birthplace, the University of Alberta, from June 13 to June 16.

Join us for this exciting event, whether you are an undergraduate student, whether you are currently working towards your graduate degree, or whether you are in your postdoc already. This conference is an excellent occasion to meet like-minded peers and build both a professional and a social network. All participants are invited to present their research in contributed sessions of 40 minutes. In addition to the student talks, we are excited to host plenary lectures by these amazing researchers at the forefront of research in their respective fields:
